1. Introduction

L Emquitee LLC ("Company", "we", "us") operates MTQ Now ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account information (email address) if you create an account
• Content you input (text notes, voice transcriptions) for document generation — processed in real time and not stored after generation
• Feedback and suggestions you submit
• Payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers)

What We Store

• Generated write-up output — stored under anonymous IDs with no user-identifying information in the record (see Section 4)
• A user index mapping your account to your anonymous write-up IDs — so you can access your history
• Anonymous usage counts (document types, generation counts — no content, no PII)

What We Do NOT Store

• Your raw input notes or voice transcriptions (deleted after generation)
• IP addresses or user agent strings in activity logs
• Customer names, VINs, phone numbers, or vehicle-specific data

Automatically Collected

• Anonymous usage data (pages visited, features used, write-ups generated — no content)
• Analytics data via Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps, click patterns — no PII). See Section 5

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Your Content & Identity-Content Separation

MTQ Now uses an identity-content separation architecture — the same principle used by payment processors to protect credit card numbers.

Here is how it works:

• Raw input is never stored. Your typed notes and voice transcriptions are used to generate the write-up, then permanently deleted from our systems.
• Generated write-ups are stored anonymously. Each write-up is saved under a random anonymous ID. The write-up record contains zero identifying information — no email, no name, no shop, no user reference.
• Your account links to anonymous IDs only. A separate user index maps your account to your write-up IDs so you can access your history. But the write-up records themselves contain nothing that identifies you.
• AI provider retains nothing. We use OpenAI's API with explicit zero-retention settings (store: false). Your content is processed and immediately discarded by the AI provider. OpenAI does not use API data for training.

What this means in practice: Even if our entire database were accessed, no one could determine which user created which write-up from the write-up records alone. This protects technicians, shops, and their customers from litigation exposure.

We do not sell, share, or use your business content for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

5. Analytics and Tracking

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with our site. Clarity may record mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior. This data helps us improve the user experience. Clarity does not collect personally identifiable information. You can learn more at clarity.microsoft.com.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encryption in transit: All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
• Identity-content separation: Write-up content stored separately from user identity under anonymous IDs
• Raw input deletion: Input notes permanently deleted after write-up generation
• AI zero-retention: OpenAI API configured with store: false — no data retained by AI provider
• CORS origin locking: API endpoints locked to mtqnow.com only
• Brute-force protection: Login rate limiting (10 attempts per 15 minutes)
• Secure cookies: HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax authentication cookies
• PCI-compliant payments: Payment processing handled by Stripe; we never store card numbers

6a. Data Retention & Deletion

• Write-up output: Retained for up to 12 months under anonymous IDs, then automatically deleted
• Raw input: Not retained — deleted immediately after generation
• Account data: Retained while your account is active; deleted upon request
• Activity logs: Anonymous counts only, capped at 500 entries (no content, no PII)
• Payment records: Managed by Stripe per their retention policy

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe — Payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
• OpenAI — AI text generation with zero-retention API mode; your data is not stored or used for training (openai.com/privacy)
• Microsoft Clarity — Analytics and heatmaps (privacy.microsoft.com)
• Vercel — Hosting (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy)

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Cancel your account and subscription at any time
• Opt out of non-essential communications

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
